If God has blessed you with a heart for worship and with musical gifts and abilities, the Music Ministry may be the perfect place for you to use those gifts for His glory and to bless others. Following is information regarding participation in the Music Ministry. Feel free to call, e-mail,
or speak with Denny and Amanda to discuss what God has laid upon your heart in this area.
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to use the gift of music as a medium through which the Holy Spirit can minister, encouraging and uplifting those who know Him and reaching out to those who do not.

1. MUST BE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
A. A MEMBER OF
SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY CHURCH
Adults (over the age of 18) must meet the requirements outlined in the Church Constitution and ByLaws for Church Membership (i.e. faithful attendance for a minimum of six months, completion of Church Membership 101; and received into church membership).
B. AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF
SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY CHURCH
Youth (ages 12-17) must meet requirements outlined in the
Church Constitution and ByLaws for Associate Membership
(i.e. faithful attendance for a minimum of six months,
completion of Church Membership 101; and received into
associate church membership).
C. OTHER APPROVED PARTICIPANTS
Any person who has been approved by the music ministry
leaders and pastoral staff to participate in ministry
(i.e. special guests; children under 12 years of age, etc.).
2. A CONSISTENT CHRISTIAN WALK
All potential music participants are required to meet with a pastor or deacon advisor for a brief interview prior to their acceptance for music ministry. Only you and the Lord know your spiritual condition. Pure ministry flows out of a pure heart. It is our personal responsibility before God and the church body that we make every effort to have pure hearts and sincere motives. If leadership becomes aware of any on-going activity that is not consistent with a Christian life, it will be addressed by the ministry leaders, deacon advisor or pastors and may result in a time of probation. However, we pray the Holy Spirit will be your guide in any areas that may be questionable.
3. A SERVANT'S HEART AND A TEACHABLE SPIRIT
In addition to serving God through this ministry, we also serve the church body, ministry leaders, and fellow teammates. It is important that we keep humble, sumbissive hearts, allowing God to take "center stage" in all we do.
4. MUSICAL COMPETENCE
The music ministry leaders will neither ask, nor have someone who feels uncomfortable, or whom they feel is not ready, to take part in a service.
